SOUL FOOD SUNDAY #1

After Are You Feeding Your Soul? went live, many people chimed in with their favorite self-care practices and soul food. So far, #soulfoodsunday has dominated IG with posts of food and comfort dishes. Let’s reclaim the hashtag with a different twist! In honor of the *new* Soul Food Sunday, Rise and Thrive will be sending off the weekend with a list of 10 soul food tips and tricks, including those suggested from readers throughout the week!

SOUL FOOD SUNDAY: 10 IDEAS

  • Practice meditation.
  • Bring out the essential oils. Fan faves: lavender, sacred frankincense, cedarwood, or blends such as peace & calming, tranquil, & stress-away
  • Go for a walk! Suggestions included anywhere from a stroll around the block to a hike deep in the woods.
  • Take your motorcycle (or your favorite motor vehicle) out for a ride! You could even go for a bike ride, if that’s your jam.
  • Treat yourself to a home-brewed cup of coffee… or your fave latte from your local coffee shop! Feeling adventurous? Order something you’ve never had before on the menu or try out a new coffee shop in town!
  • Watch the sunset. Tip: Even if you can’t watch the entire sunset, sometimes just taking a moment to notice the beauty on our way home is all we need.
  • Help someone who needs it. The joy of helping others is sometimes just what we need to fill our cup back up when we are feeling drained.
  • Do some cardio! Bring some of that invigorating energy into your life! Fan faves: treadmill, bicycle, or a brisk walk
  • Soak up love and belonging from those around you.
  • Big belly laughs! You know, the kind of genuine, deep laughter that makes your eyes water and your sides ache. The sound of pure happiness (with added benefit of an ab workout) AKA “the good stuff.”
